About Us - Quality Statement
The policy of Combined Harvesters Ltd (CH) is to achieve and maintain
a high standard of quality in all aspects of its operation and to continually
satisfy the expectations of our customers in respect of all the services
offered.
CH aims to ensure that the needs of our customers are clearly understood and met through close liaison at all stages of the work.
All work is conducted to a high professional standard with technical
and commercial integrity.
The company is committed to effective Quality Management at every level
within the business.
CH will ensure in providing and maintaining its service to its customers
that:
• the quality policy is upheld and supported by management at all
levels;
• staff responsibilities and duties are clearly identified;
• staff are appropriately trained to enable them to undertake their
tasks and given appropriate authority within the scope of their responsibilities;
• sufficient resources are provided to facilitate the work;
• quality plans are applied in the management of all projects;
• all appropriate documentation is maintained, controlled and archived;
• periodic audits and reviews of staff and project work are undertaken
to ensure that standards are maintained and opportunities for improvements
sought.
Ultimate responsibility within the company rests with the Directors; the Quality Managers, as a management representatives are responsible for all matters pertaining to the Quality System.

We are committed to becoming a truly sustainable business. This means having the ability to continue providing our customers with high quality products and services in ways that enhance the environment.
We aim to:
• reduce emissions to levels at which adverse impacts on the environment are avoided
• take water and other resources from the environment at a level that is in balance with the expected rate of regeneration
• do all we can to comply with and, where possible, to better codes, consents and directives issued as local, national and European directives
• conserve and protect the environment and, wherever possible, improve it through the services we provide
• operate in a socially responsible manner
• be fully prepared to cope with our operational emergencies that might affect the environment
• lead by example within our region to contributing towards its sustainable development in integrating sustainability into business practice.
To achieve our aims we will:
• applying strict quality controls in all we do
• seek to design, operate and maintain our equipment to the highest practicable standards in order to meet our environmental objectives
• implement new technology to improve working practices
• install plant and equipment and design capital work that blends as sympathetically as possible into the local landscape
• involve the public in our work, liaising with local groups and individuals where our operations may affect them
• publicly report on our performance
• develop accounting systems as a means of understanding our environmental impacts.

Combined Harvesters Ltd Health and safety policy.
Combined Harvesters ltd. Ltd recognises its responsibilities under the
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to ensure that its operations are
executed at all times in such a way as to ensure, as far as it is reasonably
practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all persons likely to be
affected, including employees, sub-contractors, visitors to site and members
of the public.
The company is committed to continual improvement of the health and safety
management system, which complies with BSI OHSAS 18001:1999, and to meeting
current health and safety legislation and any subsequent changes.
1.2
In line with these responsibilities, the Company aims to provide, as far
as is reasonably practicable:
a. a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees, the carrying
out of risk analyses and the identification of hazards;
b. systems of work which are safe and without risks to health;
c. general training in health and safety so that all employees are made
aware of any potential hazards in relation to their work, and the latest
procedures for overcoming them;
d. specific training in safe working procedures, the operation of plant
and machinery and accident prevention;
e. a system for conducting a regular review of the training needs of the
workforce;
f. the provision of regular refresher courses, with reference to training
already carried out;
g. basic training in health and safety to new employees and young workers,
and to ensure that whenever new plant or variations in systems of work
are introduced, then the appropriate safety training is given;
h. personal protective clothing and equipment appropriate to the job in
hand;
i. guidance on what to do in the event of an emergency;
j. on-site welfare and first-aid provision which complies fully with the
statutory requirements together with a system for maintaining the equipment;
k. adequate fire fighting equipment and fire training, in liaison with
the fire authority;
l. a means of contact with the relevant health and safety bodies so that
up-to-date information on legislation, codes of practice and other technical
guidance is available within the company, and is circulated promptly to
all concerned.
1.3
The Directors have appointed a director with the responsibility for health
& safety. They will ensure that this policy is reviewed at least annually,
and more frequently if necessary. Those reviews will take account of new
legislation, changes in type of work undertaken, changes in work equipment
and working practices, and the latest developments in training and accident
prevention techniques.
1.4
The Health & Safety Director will ensure that all employees have received
this Health and Safety Policy, and that above all, the provisions are
understood and carefully observed at all times.
The Health and Safety Policy is available to all interested parties including
members of the public.

1.5
Employees of Combined harvesters are regularly consulted on matters affecting
their health and safety at work, and are encouraged to take an active
role in promoting health and safety within the company.
Safety representatives from site and head office hold monthly safety,
health, environmental and quality (SHEQ) committee meetings to address
all SHEQ related issues. Constructive suggestions will always be welcomed
as an important contribution towards achieving this objective.
1.6
Six monthly management review meetings are held to ensure ongoing monitoring
and forward planning for all SHEQ related matters.
1.7
It is a condition of service that every employee co-operates fully in
complying with, and helping to implement this policy. Any failure to do
so will be regarded as a serious disciplinary matter.
1.8
The Board of Directors will sanction funds to be made available to meet
the requirements of this Policy.
